A GoFundMe campaign established in memory of Nathaly Michelle Ramirez, a 23-year-old mother who died after falling from a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx, New York, has raised more than $32,000 to support her infant daughter and grieving family. The fundraiser, launched on October 8 by Ramirez’s mother, Nathaly Minaya, aims to help the family manage unexpected expenses and support the baby. The incident occurred at around 3.30 am on October 6 at the Allerville Arms apartment building on Olinville Avenue in the Allerton neighbourhood of the Bronx. Ramirez’s former boyfriend, 31-year-old Angel Carrasco, was arrested in connection with the incident.
The eight-month-old girl survived the fall and was found in her mother’s arms, according to reports citing investigators. Donations will help ease the family’s financial burden and provide support for the baby and her grandmother during a difficult period, according to the campaign description. Police allege that Ramirez and her daughter were pushed from the balcony. The campaign received hundreds of donations within days of the tragedy, as relatives, friends and strangers came together to help the family through an immense loss. The fundraiser, titled In Memory of Nathaly Michelle Ramirez, was organised by Minaya to support herself and her granddaughter following Ramirez’s death. The fundraiser also seeks to honour Ramirez’s memory and help her family manage expenses they were not prepared for. Police responded to an emergency call and found Ramirez and her daughter outside the building with injuries consistent with a fall from a height. Police allege that he pushed Ramirez and their daughter from the balcony. He faces charges including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
