Apple TV profiles, Group FaceTime Dual Capture and more in iOS 27.2
The redesigned Health app will come in a later iOS update
Apple has rolled out the release candidate (RC) of iOS 27.2 to developers and beta testers, the final test build before the update reaches every compatible iPhone . With iOS 27.2, it adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The RC arrived on October 19, a week after the fourth beta. Apple usually ships the public version about a week after an RC, which puts the iOS 27.2 release date around October 26. If you are wondering where iOS 27.1 went, it won’t show up on your phone. That build is reserved for the foldable iPhone Duo, which goes on sale on October 23. The Duo will move to iOS 27.2 along with everyone else. One iOS 27 security feature is worth turning on while you wait.
The biggest change is for Siri AI, which has worked only in English so far. Hindi is not on the list yet. Apple’s release notes say it will return in an upcoming beta. Impersonation Risk Detection, off by default, looks for signs of an active scam, such as someone posing as a bank and pushing you to make a payment. Supported apps receive only a risk level, not your data, and can respond with a delay, a warning or an extra identity check. You’ll find it under Settings > Privacy & Security > Impersonation Risk Detection, where you switch on Share with App Developers. Apple hasn’t named the supported apps yet.
The Health app redesign, with its Longevity tab and Health Age score, was tested in earlier betas but is missing from the RC.
Messages gets Suggested Actions, a feature that was cut from the iOS 27 public build in September. It reads the context of a chat and offers to create a calendar event, a reminder or a note right below the message. You can pick which types of suggestions show up.
