CHENNAI: A day after financial consultant and social media influencer V Harish died by suicide at his rented villa in Muttukadu, Kanathur police on Wednesday registered a case of abetment to suicide following a complaint from his father alleging sustained cyberbullying and online harassment. He was found dead at his residence on Tuesday.
Samuel posted videos on Oct 18 questioning Harish’s credibility, according to the complaint.
An investigating officer said names of individuals found to have played a role in the alleged abetment would be included in the case if their involvement was established during the investigation. Police are preparing to summon a fellow influencer named in the complaint for questioning. Samuel denied the allegations, saying he had only questioned Harish’s financial credentials and whether he was authorised to offer investment advice. He claimed that Harish lacked a SEBI-registered investment adviser licence and had misrepresented his AMFI registration.
