Social media influencer Amir Shokeen, arrested by Delhi Police in connection with an alleged racial slur case involving a youth from Tripura, in New Delhi. A case has been registered at Sadar Bazar Police Station
The episode, which involved racial slurs, abusive language and inappropriate physical contact, occurred two days before his arrest. A Tripura police team, headed by DSP (headquarters) Samudra Debbarma, reached Delhi in the evening to secure Shokeen’s transit remand to Agartala in a case filed at New Capital Complex police station. Acting on a directive from chief minister Manik Saha , Tripura DGP coordinated with his Delhi counterpart, leading to a raid at Shokeen’s residence in north Delhi. Shokeen was booked at Sadar bazaar police station in New Delhi and will be produced in a local court, where Tripura police plan to seek his transit remand for further investigation.
