Man gets son, son-in-law to shoot him to frame rival in land dispute
Meerut : A 55-year-old man allegedly conspired with his son and son-in-law to stage a shooting and implicate his rival in a false criminal case over a long-standing land dispute in Mirzapur Agarpur village of Bulandshahr, police said on Saturday. The accused, Brahma Singh, a farmer, his son Shripal Singh (25) and son-in-law Rohit (20), were arrested after police uncovered the alleged plot.
Rohit allegedly shot his father-in-law in the hand on the same day as part of the plan to frame Ashok, according to police sources. An illegal firearm and a country-made pistol cartridge were also seized.
Because of the ongoing dispute, police said the accused intended to implicate him. Ashok, a CRPF personnel posted in Jammu & Kashmir, had recently returned home on leave.
After his death, Ashok pursued the case, and in 2024, a court ordered the land to be registered in his favour. Brahma Singh later filed an appeal, which was scheduled for hearing on Sept 30 this year. Badle Singh subsequently approached a court. However, an investigation exposed the alleged conspiracy.
