It speaks about the commitment of our volunteers, especially students, to show up for Bengaluru and its public spaces,” said Plog Raja of Indian Ploggers Army. Volunteers’ Voices Abhijith Nayar, software professional, AECS Layout resident, said, “Bengaluru’s parks have always been places to get fresh air, unwind and reconnect with friends and family. Bengaluru: Overnight rains may have delayed the start, but did little to dampen the volunteering spirit as citizens turned up for Sunday’s activities under #IamBengaluru – Volunteer for Parks, presented by Multigen, in association with Kristu Jayanti University and supported by Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA). At Triangle Park, 4th Block, Koramangala, Adamya Chetana Foundation (ACF) led volunteers in a plantation and plogging activity. At Bugle Rock Park, Basavanagudi, Indian Ploggers Army conducted a plogging and waste-management segregation drive. “It is heartening to see ploggers travel from far-off parts of the city and turn up despite the rains. I joined this activity on a friend’s invitation and came away feeling that initiatives like #IamBengaluru can help preserve these spaces while bringing people together. Devishri KS, MBA student, Alliance University, Anekal, added: “Parks are my little escape from the chaos of everyday life. Seeing so many volunteers come together showed me how awareness can become action and make Bengaluru greener, one park at a time. Watching them clean the park and plant saplings showed that the spirit of caring for Bengaluru can be passed on. “When young people clean public spaces and take that message back to their communities, it can create a lasting change in how we treat our environment.
