Minister Vakiti Srihari along with cadre travelling in a bus to Delhi

Chief minister A Revanth Reddy and TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud have set a target of mobilising 15,000 party leaders and workers from Telangana for the rally. Accordingly, the party planned to arrange nearly 300 special buses to transport the cadre to the national capital.

“The participation of party workers from different parts of Telangana would help highlight the alleged irregularities in the electoral process at the national level,” he said. The rally, organised by the Congress and INDIA bloc with the slogans ‘Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao’ and ‘Gyanesh Go Back’, aims to protest against alleged vote theft and demand the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. After the South Central Railway (SCR) declined to provide special trains to transport party workers to Delhi, citing short notice and operational constraints during the festival season, the Telangana Congress leadership made alternative arrangements by organising private sleeper buses. BJP leaders maintained that the request had not followed the prescribed advance-booking procedures While the Congress alleged that the denial was politically motivated and made under pressure from the Union govt. In Husnabad constituency, a large contingent of Congress leaders and workers left for Delhi in special buses arranged by transport and BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Similarly, a large number of Congress leaders and workers from the Makthal constituency began their journey following a call given by minister Vakiti Srihari. The minister flagged off the buses arranged for the journey and travelled along with party workers, raising slogans and encouraging them during the trip. He urged the party cadre to actively participate in the campaign to safeguard democracy and protect the constitutional right to vote. TPCC president Mahesh Goud maintained that the right to vote was the cornerstone of democracy and that protecting every citizen’s voting rights was a collective responsibility.

Party leaders and workers from all the districts and a large number of assembly constituencies started their journey on Thursday and Friday.
