The incident came to light around 10.30am when patrolling police from Hoysala noticed a crowd at the spot. However, close scrutiny revealed that there was no explosive material like gunpowder inside it, and police suspect it could be mischief intended to create panic among the public. Investigations had revealed that the motives behind the attack were personal enmities, financial disputes, and land rivalries originating from the suspects’ home state of Assam .

A senior police officer said, “There was also a fuse wire attached with it. “The crowd told our staff that someone had placed explosives on the pavement between two trees. The objects were intentionally kept,” an officer said.

Bengaluru : City police and sleuths from the bomb disposal squad were sent into a tizzy after they found a dynamite-like material by the roadside in Sonnenahalli near Jnanabharati, in the western part of the city, Saturday morning. If this is a prank, then the persons behind it have the knowledge of dynamite and its appearance. The city was on high alert following the recent explosion inside an under-construction building in Pulakeshinagar, injuring two persons. The incident stemmed from a rudimentary low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) disguised inside a parcel. Police had arrested three men. The main suspect had assembled a basic explosive device using gunpowder extracted from ordinary firecrackers, connected with basic wiring, a battery and a push-button mechanism.
