Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police commissionerate has imposed a 60-day ban on the flying of drones and other aerial devices across its jurisdiction, citing security threats to VVIPs and public safety concerns arising from possible misuse by anti-national elements.
“Such devices can be used to attack VVIPs, endanger human lives, damage public property and disturb law and order, and therefore it is necessary to initiate preventive and prohibitive measures.
Only aerial surveillance by police and any drone operations undertaken with specific permission of the police commissioner will be exempted from the ban,” said the order. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police commissionerate said: “As it is not possible to serve notice individually to all persons concerned, the order has been passed ex-parte and is being publicized through the media and by displaying copies on notice boards at the offices of the police commissioner, deputy commissioners of police, assistant commissioners of police, all police stations, traffic branches, sub-divisional offices and beat outposts. ”
