The John Cena Classic has been the talk of the town ever since John Cena returned to WWE television and officially revealed the details of the event.
However, The Last Real Champion said the voting power was exclusive to Club WWE members, which former personnel Jonathan Coachman called out. One of those, as Cena mentioned, was regarding the voting power, where fans could vote for their favorite stars and still keep them in the competition if they lose.
Coach said, “Vince, it was all smoke and mirrors to me. Coachman said, “There was no—and then it came. He said, ‘My brand is about hustle, loyalty, respect. So if you want to vote for something, we don’t know what that is yet, you’re going to have to pay to do it.“’”
In the recent episode of The Coach and Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman and his co-host, Vince Russo, trolled WWE for not providing adequate information about how The John Cena Classic would work. There were no rules. There was no, ‘This is what it is.’” The conversation then shifted to Cena revealing that voting power would be available only to fans with a Club WWE subscription. Coachman believed that WWE was disrespecting the fans, as Cena’s brand stood for the loyalty of the audience, and they decided to put the voting behind a paywall. So, essentially, fans would need to pay to do something they don’t even have complete clarity about. And this is what I really have an issue with. So, I’m going to respect our loyal fan base right now and put the voting in only Club WWE. So essentially, they’re putting the voting behind a paywall.
