New Delhi: Several districts in Delhi have begun issuing licences for the sale of green firecrackers, and a significant number of applications are also awaiting approval.
Police sources said over 250 applications reached them in various districts, of which over 125 were granted licences till Thursday afternoon.
“We are awaiting clearance from the fire department for the applicants,” an officer said. Applicants seeking licences for the sale of green firecrackers in Delhi will have to submit a set of mandatory documents, such as a detailed site plan of the proposed premises, photographs, proof of residence and a fire department no-objection certificate (NOC), according to the prescribed application guidelines. Outer North district received at least five applications, but none has been approved yet. In cases where the premises are rented, applicants must furnish proof of ownership or tenancy, along with a rent agreement and a no-objection certificate from the landlord. A fire NOC is another mandatory requirement.
