The project requires acquiring 363 hectares of land across 22 villages in Nashik district, which includes 78 hectares from six villages in Nandgaon taluka and 282 hectares across 16 villages in Malegaon taluka, according to officials. Because of this resistance, the initial land acquisition notification expired after its one-year validity, forcing the administration to issue a fresh notification in Aug this year.
We encountered some hurdles in Malegaon, and the issue has been taken up with state minister Dada Bhuse,” said deputy collector Ravindra Bharde. We will lose our land and will not be able to buy alternative land with this compensation,” said Vilas Zambre, a local farmer. “The district administration is seeking the assistance of state minister Dada Bhuse to resolve the matter,” Bharde said. “A series of meetings between the minister and farmers will be organised soon to reach a breakthrough.”
Nashik : The ministry of railways has urged the Nashik district administration to accelerate land acquisition for Manmad-Dhule-Indore rail line. The urgent push comes as the Central govt tries to bring railway connectivity to Malegaon, which holds the distinction of being the only city in India with a population over five lakh without a railway station. “Railway ministry officials held a meeting with the district collectors of Nashik and Dhule, asking authorities to speed up land acquisition. Local farmers claim that market rates far exceed the compensation calculated using ready-reckoner figures. “The rates offered are not competitive.
