Kochi : The state govt has sanctioned Rs 25.30 lakh for a comprehensive traffic study aimed at finding long-term solutions to acute congestion in Aluva.
State govt had initially earmarked Rs 30 lakh for the initiative. Data collection and analysis would be completed within eight weeks, with the final report scheduled for submission to govt by Jan 1, 2027, he said. The allocation matches an estimate submitted by National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (Natpac), commissioned to prepare solutions for the area.
Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath said Natpac would begin Phase I field operations on Friday, covering the heavily congested national highway stretch from Pulinchodu Junction to Mangalapuzha Bridge.
