Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the ‘One District-One Cuisine’ (ODOC) campaign will soon be extended to tehsil, block and village levels so that UP’s traditional food and culinary diversity get global recognition.

We need to recognise and promote them,” he said. The movement to take the ODOC campaign to the village level will help in identifying cuisines and local products that have so far remained unrecognised, the CM said, adding that eligible products will also receive GI tags and gain access to markets and other necessary support. “Govt has implemented the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana to provide financial assistance to traditional artisans, sweet makers and families engaged in preparing food products at the household level,” he said.

“The decision had been taken to highlight the vast diversity in UP’s traditional cuisines. Every district of UP has its own distinct culinary tradition and special flavours.
