Yathindra Siddaramaiah
On the cancellation of Jetti Kalaga during the royal family’s private Dasara festivities, Yathindra said police were investigating and action would be taken against officials responsible after he received their report. He said Dasara festivities drew attention over minor issues every year and dismissed Pramoda Devi’s criticism. He claimed the Central Crime Branch had found a link between the alleged operation and Union minister HD Kumaraswamy , and said the Bengaluru city police commissioner had issued a statement in this regard.
Royal family members could discuss the confusion and Dasara traditions with the chief minister, he added.
Yathindra told reporters in Mysuru that he had spoken the truth about the palace’s ownership. He said state govt paid an honorarium to Mysuru royal family for providing the golden howdah for Dasara procession. However, he clarified that he had never said the golden throne and howdah kept in the palace were public properties. His remarks came days after Mysuru royal family matriarch Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said the throne and howdah were the family’s properties.
