Tiwari said sewage and drain water were entering residents’ homes in several areas, including Allapur, Salori, Shivkuti, Baghada, and Teliarganj. Led by state general secretary Mukund Tiwari, the activists raised slogans against the municipal corporation and demanded the resignation of the urban development minister. Even light rainfall leads to waterlogging on the roads, causing immense difficulty for commuters. He alleged that despite repeatedly apprising municipal corporation officials of the problem, there has been no improvement in the situation.

Party spokesperson Haseeb Ahmed said that severe waterlogging occurs on roads following rainfall in several areas of the old city, including Johnstonganj, Chowk, Rani Mandi, Nakhas Kona, Kareli, Gaus Nagar, and Enuddinpur. Congress leaders warned that if a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem is not found soon, the party would intensify its agitation on this issue.
