By: Suhas Birhade NALASOPARA: A 16-year-old boy allegedly driving a car at high speed ran over two women pedestrians in Nalasopara East on Wednesday evening, killing one and seriously injuring the other. The incident took place at Datt Nagar around 4.45pm. The victims, Pragati More (36) and Shreya Misal (32), residents of Nagindas Pada in Nalasopara East, worked as domestic helpers. She died during treatment at around 9.45pm, police said. A case has been registered at Tulinj police station under sections 106(1), 125(b), 281 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, including 184, 181(4) and 180.

The vehicle is owned by Rajesh Shah, while Mahesh Naik was the driver, according to the police. The Tulinj police have detained the minor driver and registered a case against the vehicle owner and another man who allegedly allowed the minor to drive the car.
