Routine motor accident not ground for disqualification from temple panel, Kerala HC

Kochi : The high court has held that the mere registration of a routing vehicle accident criminal case that does not involve moral turpitude allegations, cannot be a valid ground for disqualifying a person from membership of a temple advisory committee.

The petitioner challenged the proceedings of the Travancore Devaswom Board sub group officer disqualifying him for the motorcycle accident case registered at the Karunagappally police on May 2, 2025. A bench of Justices V Raja Vijayaraghavan and K V Jayakumar was considering a petition by Radhakrishnan R of Karunagappally in Kollam, elected as a member of the temple advisory committee of Adinad Sakthikulangara Sree Durga Bhadra Bhagavathy Temple.
