Mangaluru: In view of the upcoming festive season and the public events and processions scheduled across Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH and Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Arun K issued a 17-point set of guidelines for organisers.
Organisers and participants have been asked to report suspicious activities or disturbances to the nearest police station or by calling 112. Police and authorised officials may inspect venues at any time. Use of drones or UAVs is not permitted without prior written approval from the competent authority Violations will invite action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Karnataka Police Act and other applicable laws. No event or procession can be held without prior written permission from police and other departments concerned. Events on private property must have a no-objection certificate from the owner. Fire extinguishers, ambulances and first-aid facilities must be arranged. Toxic dyes, banned chemicals and single-use plastics are prohibited. Roads, footpaths and emergency access routes must remain clear. Parking shall be allowed only in designated areas.
