Man, about 30 years old, was found hanging from a tree near a railway track on Sunday morning in Kanpur
Kanpur: The mutilated body of a 26-year-old man who had been missing for the past 10 days was found in bushes along the Delhi-Howrah railway track near Dada Nagar railway crossing, police said on Wednesday. Family members told police that Varun had left home for Delhi on Aug 14 by the Barmer Express. His body was found on Aug 24, police said.
They said they lost contact with him thereafter and had been searching for him.
The deceased was identified through his Aadhaar card as Varun Kumar , a resident of Tatri Topchachi in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, according to police. The station in-charge said the body appeared to be several days old. After receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem examination. Police suspect that Varun may have died after falling from a moving train.
Family members identified the deceased at the mortuary on Wednesday.
