CPI functionary V S Sunilkumar

Thrissur : CPI functionary V S Sunilkumar, who lost the Thrissur Lok Sabha election to BJP ’s Suresh Gopi , alleged on Thursday that the reported findings of the crime branch team probing the incidents that triggered a disruption of the 2024 Pooram festival were far from true. Sunilkumar said the findings, as reported in the media, appeared to provide an escape route for the real conspirators behind the incidents that had led to the suspension of Pooram festivities for several hours. He also alleged that then Thrissur district collector Krishna Teja too played a significant role in precipitating the crisis during the festival and added that the reported probe findings were silent on these aspects.

Sunilkumar alleged that a political conspiracy had been hatched to sabotage Thrissur Pooram and claimed that the BJP and the RSS benefited from the disruption.
