A 13-year-old Class 8 student was discovered dead at his residence in Kakarala village, located within the jurisdiction of Kotwali Dehat police station in Bijnor district, on Tuesday evening. The circumstances surrounding his death have led to local protests, as the boy’s family has accused a classmate of contributing to his decision to take his own life. The community is now grappling with the implications of this tragic incident, raising concerns about the pressures faced by students.
Police Body Retrieval and Autopsy Update
Family members initially resisted the police’s request to take the deceased for a post-mortem examination, insisting on the immediate arrest of the suspect. However, the body has now been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The victim, a student of Janta Inter College in Mahua village, had engaged in an argument with a 14-year-old classmate at school, which escalated as they walked home, according to police. Upon returning from their agricultural fields around 6 pm, the family found the boy hanging. The classmate’s mother subsequently visited the victim’s home to complain. Aggrieved family members and villagers staged a protest demanding immediate action against the classmate. Senior police officials, including Nagina circle officer Rajesh Kumar and Kotwali Dehat SHO Sunil Seharawat, arrived to pacify the crowd and assured a thorough investigation into the allegations.
