Hyderabad: Tollywood director Pavan Sadineni was arrested by Golconda police about two weeks ago in connection with an alleged sexual exploitation case filed by an actress. He is currently in judicial custody.
In her complaint filed on Aug 7, the actress alleged that she had been in a relationship with the 38-year-old director for over a year.
She reportedly told police that while the relationship initially went well, he later began neglecting her. “We have arrested the accused film director Pavan Sadineni in an alleged sexual exploitation case,” DCP Golconda J Raghavendar Reddy said. She alleged that she subsequently learnt that he was married and had children, but he reassured her that he was going through a divorce and would marry her after it. The actress further alleged that Pavan had promised her acting and other career opportunities, but they reportedly did not materialise. She also alleged that he had promised to produce a film with her as the lead actor, besides a house and a fixed amount of money in a bank account. Sadineni is known for directing Tollywood films including Prema Ishq Kaadhal and web series Pilla and Dayaa . He is currently directing the multilingual film Aakasam Lo Oka Tara , featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Hegde and Shruti Haasan.
