Warangal : A police constable of the intelligence department, Kasula Srinivas (45), who was injured on Sunday night when a speeding car rammed him in Warangal, succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Raju had lost control of his car and hit the people standing near the ice cream cart. The car was allegedly driven by a youth, Kondaparthi Raju, under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place at Hunter Road in Warangal. The constable, a resident of Deshaipet in Warangal, was waiting to meet his friend near a roadside ice cream cart. a couple waiting nearby was also hurt While Srinivas suffered severe head injuries.

Srinivas was shifted to Hyderabad on Sunday night.

Raju’s blood samples were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and a report is awaited, according to Matwada inspector N Karunakar. A notice was served to the accused Raju, and a chargesheet along with the FSL report will be submitted to the court, said Karunakar. Download the TOI App.
