Kolhapur: The Kas Flower Festival is all set to start on Sept 1 this year at the Kas Plateau. Ticket prices for the festival increased from the earlier declared Rs 150 per head to Rs 200 per head. Children below the age of 12 will be permitted free of charge, and everyone above 12 years of age will have to pay a fee of Rs 200. On Saturdays, Sundays and govt holidays, only 3,000 tourists will be allowed to enter via online booking, which can be done on the website www.kas.ind.in.
The revised ticket includes a pick-up bus facility from the Kas Plateau parking spot to the gate of Kas Plateau. The Kas committee and the forest department have taken a decision to keep the crowd under control.
School students and tourists will be allowed to enter except on Saturdays, Sundays, and govt holidays, for which a fee of Rs 40 will be charged per student. Around 170 employees from five villages have been appointed under the committee for the success of the season and for the convenience of tourists. A letter from the school principal will be required for the trip. Tourists will not be charged a camera fee for photography, but there will be restrictions on flying drones in the Kas area. Action will be taken if drones are flown without permission.
