Hyderabad: Aerospace and defence manufacturer Sigma Advanced Systems has signed an additional seven-year agreement with Rolls-Royce Aerospace UK worth nearly £125 million (around Rs 1,600 crore) through its newly acquired subsidiary Bromford Precision Solutions in Leicester.
The contract follows a recently announced £300 million (around Rs 3,900 crore) long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce and expands Sigma’s role in the British engine maker’s supply chain, the Hyderabad-based defence and aerospace manufacturer said on Monday.
Together, the deals give the group stronger revenue visibility and a wider manufacturing presence across critical aerospace programmes, Sigma Advanced Systems said. Sigma said the contract validates the strategic rationale for buying Bromford, adding complementary products, OEM approvals and specialist engineering expertise while securing the Leicester site’s long-term future. The company said the agreement would help safeguard skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs and strengthen the UK’s aerospace manufacturing base. Sigma Advanced Systems CEO & executive director Sunil Kalidindi said global OEMs were increasingly turning to India for engineering depth, quality and scale, not just cost advantages. He said combining Bromford’s UK capabilities with Sigma’s India manufacturing network enables the company to offer a global solution and participate in higher-value aerospace programmes.
Bromford, acquired as part of Sigma’s strategy to build a UK aerospace platform alongside Nasmyth, another company acquired by Sigma, brings specialist capability in aero-engine rings, casings, lock plates and advanced precision components.
