The aircraft type and registration are yet to be officially confirmed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Emergency teams reached the crash site following the incident. Early indications suggest that the aircraft was a Tecnam P2006T operated by Garg Aviation, which has one such aircraft in its Kanpur fleet. The crash comes two months after a woman cadet pilot from New Delhi was injured after being struck by a running propeller while deboarding a twin-engine training aircraft at Garg Aviation’s Flying Training Organisation (FTO) in Kanpur.
