Kolkata: Investigators have recorded statements of two workers of ABVP and two university staff members as part of their ongoing probe into the JU campus clashes.
Police confirmed that while the process of recording statements will continue, formal questioning of probable suspects has not yet commenced.
Authorities said they were currently gathering initial statements to verify the sequence of events and establish the identities of those involved. The inquiry aimed to determine how “outsiders” gained access to the university grounds. Among those questioned were Nikhil Das, president of the JU ABVP unit, and Aritra Sarkar , one of the primary complainants. Both stated that police inquiries focused on details of the violence, proceedings and content of the GB meeting on campus, and the identities of students belonging to the opposing faction present during the altercation. Concurrently, cops also questioned two JU staff members regarding campus security protocols.
