New Delhi: Delhi govt is likely to open the much-awaited Barapullah Elevated Road Phase-III to the public between Sept 17 and Oct 2 as part of its ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ celebrations to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s birthday. The final date is yet to be announced. BJP-led govt is also planning to inaugurate a slew of completed infrastructure and civic projects across the city during the fortnight.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and CM Rekha Gupta held a meeting Saturday during which they announced to jointly organise a ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Delhi from Sept 17 to Oct 17, as part of the national action plan, marking the 25th year of PM Modi’s “journey of service and dedication. Malhotra said the month-long campaign will commence on Sept 17 with a blood donation camp. Cleanliness drives, painting competitions on the achievements of 12 years of govt and the vision of a developed India, ‘Namo Seva Gatha’ street plays, felicitation of Anganwadi and ASHA workers among other events will be held, said Malhotra.
The projects span across transport, roads, sewerage, water management, education, power, public utilities and urban beautification, with govt describing the initiative as a major push to improve civic infrastructure in the capital.
