In a tragic incident in Faridinagar, Lucknow, a woman returning home with a birthday cake discovered her husband deceased. The body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at their residence on Friday. Local authorities from the Dubagga police station have been notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the case.
A native of Barabanki, Abhishek Trivedi, 25, had love marriage with a Gomtinagar woman three years ago and the couple had been living together in Faridinagar.
Trivedi’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan with the noose made of a dupatta, police said. The man was found hanging with a wire around his neck, in his chamber located a short distance from his residence, according to police. She called neighbours for help and the door was pushed open with their assistance. His family members rushed him to Rani Laxmi Bai Hospital and police were informed through a written memo. Police identified him as a resident of Buddheshwar area. His family members, however, could not provide any clear information about the motive for suicide.
Police said that it was Trivedi’s birthday on Friday. The woman had gone to her parental home on Wednesday for Raksha Bandhan, according to police and family members. When she returned home on Friday, she knocked on the door several times but received no response.
Dubagga inspector Shrikant Rai said the case appeared to be of suicide, though the motive behind his taking the extreme step was yet to be ascertained. No family member has made any allegation against anyone, he added. The family suspects financial stress may have driven him to take the extreme step.
