Upcoming Publication of Draft Electoral Roll in Pune
The draft electoral roll, created under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, is set to be published on August 31 this year. District Collector and Election Officer Jitendra Dudi has urged voters to verify that their details are accurately represented in the draft list.
The draft roll will be accessible online via the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra’s website, as well as through the Pune district collector’s site. Printed versions will also be available at the offices of recognized political parties, tehsil offices, and electoral registration offices.
Voters who find their names missing from the draft can apply for registration using Form 6. Those wishing to contest a name listed in the electoral roll may submit Form 7. Additionally, Form 8 can be used to apply for an Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or to make corrections in the electoral roll.
Dudi indicated that voters dissatisfied with decisions made by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) can appeal to him as the district election officer. Further appeals can be directed to the Maharashtra CEO, ensuring a multi-tiered review process for electoral grievances.
