M adurai: Madras high court on Monday dismissed the bail petition of four accused people, including the suspended sub-registrar, in the case pertaining to fraudulent registration of 1.4 acre land valued at Rs100 crore belonging to Arulmigu Dhandapani Swamigal Madam in Palani.

Justice K Murali Shankar dismissed the bail petitions of sub-registrar Justin Manikandan, Murugadass, Sethupathi and Vellathurai. The case pertains to the fraudulent registration of mutt land through fabricated records. Following a complaint lodged by superintendent of Palani temple land division Muruganandam, Palani Adivaram police had initially registered a case. Subsequently, the case was transferred to Dindigul district CB-CID. CB-CID officials arrested several people in connection with the case, including D Murugadass of Villupuram who sold the land, K Vellathurai of Tirupur, and D Sethupathi who purchased the parcel of land.
