The water level in the dam has been reduced to 2,272 feet from its maximum of 2,284 feet following the release of water to TN daily, they stated. The inflow to the reservoir was maintained at 4,500 cusecs, while the dam authorities discharged 8,000 cusecs of water daily even though the inflow was reducing day by day.

Instead of releasing water to canals and filling lakes, the dam authorities are releasing water downstream to TN, they said. The protesters shouted slogans against releasing water to TN without protecting the interest of the local farmers. The protesters vented their ire on HD Kote tahasildar Srinivas and Kabini reservoir executive engineer for releasing water.
