New Delhi: Traffic police have issued a detailed public advisory ahead of BRICS Summit 2026, warning commuters of traffic diversions and restrictions during the motorcade rehearsal on Sept 2. The rehearsal will be held between 10am and 3pm, with traffic regulations planned at 22 diversion points covering more than 35 roads. The summit is scheduled to be held from Sept 11 to 13 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan.
Roadside parking will not be permitted except in designated areas, with parking within 200 metres of controlled roads strictly prohibited. Traffic police also issued alternate routes for commuters travelling to New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations, while separate routes have been prescribed for passengers travelling to IGI Airport from Gurugram, Dwarka, New Delhi, south, west, north and east Delhi. Metro has been strongly recommended for airport travel during the advisory window. Commuters are suggested to allow extra travel time, use public transport and follow designated diversion routes. Emergency and essential services will continue to receive priority, while commercial traffic will face restrictions on designated routes.
