NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the motorcade rehearsal for the BRICS Summit 2026, with restrictions and diversions set to affect several key roads in the national Capital on September 2. Officials have advised commuters to follow the instructions of traffic personnel, avoid roadside parking within 200 metres of controlled roads and report any suspicious object or activity to the nearest police officer. The traffic police have identified several diversion points, including Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk, Mir Dard Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Marg/Outer Circle, Janpath-Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, RML Hospital roundabout, Dhaula Kuan flyover, Moti Bagh flyover, Lodhi Road and Mandir House. For passengers travelling from Gurugram, Dwarka, New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi and North and East Delhi, the traffic police have suggested specific road corridors to reach the airport while avoiding regulated stretches. The traffic police advised commuters to plan their journeys early, particularly when travelling to airports, railway stations and ISBTs. Emergency and medical vehicles will be provided obstruction-free passage, while essential services and utilities will continue to have access.
