The road connecting Mahatma Nagar to Motiwala College is set to be developed as a parallel route to the existing Gangapur Road. This initiative aims to enhance local infrastructure and improve traffic flow in the area.

Under the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) 2020, developers who create public amenities at their own cost and hand them over to civic authorities are eligible for TDR. Civic officials said proposals received for the projects were currently under scrutiny and cost estimates were being prepared. The officials said the mechanism would help fast-track long-pending roads earmarked in the city’s development plan (DP) while reducing the corporation’s immediate financial burden. Proposals for roads in Satpur, Pathardi and Makhmalabad have also been received,” a senior NMC official said.

Nashik : The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has initiated plans to develop four roads across the city under its newly approved construction Transferable Development Rights (TDR) policy, marking a new approach to executing civic infrastructure projects. The proposed projects included a parallel road to Gangapur Road and key road stretches in Pathardi, Makhmalabad and Satpur. The policy, approved by NMC general body last month, allowed private developers and contractors to undertake public infrastructure works in exchange for transferable development rights instead of direct monetary payment. Several DP roads have remained undeveloped for years despite being reserved for infrastructure projects. To operationalise the provision, NMC framed a detailed policy based on recommendations of a special committee headed by the municipal commissioner. The framework received final approval from the general body last month. “Construction TDR will help accelerate road development in the city. Under the new policy, developers undertaking layout projects will be required to build internal roads and related infrastructure such as water supply and sewerage networks. The civic body can also grant TDR for roads proposed by corporators, creating an alternative funding mechanism for infrastructure development.
