Police responded to the incident at around 5 am local time and cordoned off parts of the station as officers investigated the scene. Augsburg is a regional transport hub located around 55 km (35 miles) west of Munich, Germany’s third-largest city after capital Berlin and Hamburg. Two people sustained minor injuries after an unidentified object exploded at a train station in the southern German city of Augsburg, local media reported.
The station was later completely shut down and rail services were suspended after police described the object as “suspicious”, without providing further details.
