Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora has warned that businesses: The wider industry impact

Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora has warned that businesses investing heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) must prioritize the modernization of their outdated digital security systems. He estimates that around $1 trillion in legacy defenses, established seven to ten years ago, are ill-equipped to handle today’s sophisticated digital threats, which operate at machine speed. Arora stressed that without a robust cybersecurity framework, companies will struggle to effectively implement AI technologies.

“I’ve been trying for eight years to tell customers they’re not ready, and [Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei] did it in one event, just by launching Mythos,” Arora said on CNBC. Arora recalled that nine months ago, the industry was widely written off on assumptions that AI would eliminate its core business.

He identified the debut of Anthropic’s Mythos system earlier this year as a decisive industry turning point.
