CM Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided to drop Endowments minister Konda Surekha from his cabinet.
Surekha maintained that her daughter’s views were personal and said she should not be held responsible for them. The recommendation to remove Surekha from Council of Ministers has been sent to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma for approval. The govt also decided to rescind Chinna Reddy’s appointment with immediate effect. Revanth’s decision came after the TPCC disciplinary committee recommended action against both leaders over recent controversial remarks. The committee had recommended Surekha’s removal from the cabinet and Chinna Reddy’s removal from Planning Board post. The controversy involving Surekha erupted after her daughter Konda Sushmitha Patel made remarks against Revanth and his family at a public event in August.
