BJP Leadership Defers Decision on Alliance Amid Controversy
The political controversy surrounding the removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers at a Pune college has now extended to the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). Local BJP leaders have opted to defer the decision on whether to withdraw from the Mahayuti alliance to state BJP president Ravindra Chavan.
BJP deputy mayor Rahul Damle confirmed that the party’s core committee has made a significant decision regarding the alliance and has sent it to Chavan for a final determination. However, he refrained from providing further details on the matter.
Meanwhile, Congress group leader in the KDMC took a swipe at the BJP over the ongoing alliance row, alleging that the party was merely indulging in political posturing.
