The Iranian embassy in Sierra Leone on Thursday took a dig at the United States, referring to the US as its personified character, “Uncle Sam,” and challenging it to “come to Iran. “Habibi (Uncle Sam), come to Iran!” the post read. The post came after US President Donald Trump said US forces had removed Iran-laid mines from the Strait of Hormuz and were continuing to move oil tankers through the key shipping route. We are, for the most part, doing it without trouble,” Trump told reporters. In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missiles at two US military targets in Jordan, claiming to have caused “heavy damage”. Jordan’s army, however, said it had intercepted eight missiles. The strikes targeted IRGC “air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites”, according to US Central Command.
