DVAC officials are conducting surprise searches at nineteen locations across Tamil Nadu linked to to former DMK minister KN Nehru
CHENNAI: Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials on Saturday are conducting surprise searches at 19 locations, including the offices and residences of former Tamil Nadu DMK minister KN Nehru and his brother Ravichandran, in Trichy, Chennai and other parts of the state.
Sources said the searches are related to allegations of party fund collection in connection with contracts awarded by the MAWS department during the previous DMK government. However, the agency is yet to upload the FIR. DMK cadres have gathered outside Nehru’s residence. Nehru is inside the house along with former minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Manachanallur MLA Kathiravan and Trichy Mayor Mu Anbazhagan. Nehru is the third former DMK minister, after EV Velu and Senthil Balaji, to face DVAC action since the new TVK government assumed office.
