The West Bengal government has authorized the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) to proceed with the construction of a promenade along the southern and western banks of Subhas Sarobar. This initiative includes securing the banks of the waterbody, repainting the kerb and pathway surrounding the lake, and reconstructing a section of the boundary wall opposite Swabhumi.
KMDA has been working on a revival plan for the 98-acre lake premise off EM Bypass following an inspection by minister Agnimitra Paul, who called for a revamp and clean-up project.
