A 65-year-old man died after his motorcycle was hit by a pick-up truck at Mandvi village in Haveli taluka about 30km from Pune on Monday afternoon.
An officer from the Haveli police said that the accident happened on a sharp turn, when Markad was heading toward Mandvi from Bahuil village. Pick-up truck too turned on its side and fell on Markad,” the officer said. The Haveli police have identified the deceased as Punjaram Markad of Mandvi. The police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against the pick-up truck driver, who is from Kondhave-Dhavade. “The pick-up truck, which was coming from the opposite side, knocked Markad’s two-wheeler. Fatal Accident Involving Markad
Markad sustained severe injuries in an accident and was transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, according to reports.
