Emphasising environmental responsibility, nearly 400 trees were planted across the the Junior School and Senior School campuses of La Martiniere College under the ‘Ek Ped Guru Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting conservation and sustainability. Recognition of academic excellence came at National PG College, where chemistry department head Vikas Singh received the C B Gupta National Shri Samman-2026, while other faculty members were also felicitated. Meanwhile, nearly 50 retired faculty members of King George’s Medical University were felicitated for their contribution to medical education and mentorship. On this occasion, 781 teachers of the school were felicitated for their invaluable contributions.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar Mittal said teachers help students identify their strengths and build confidence. “Teachers guide students not only towards success but also towards values and discipline,” said mayor Sushma Kharkwal. Cultural celebrations also marked the day at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, where students presented devotional songs on Janmashtami, while an HPV vaccination awareness drive was also organised. The importance of inclusive learning was highlighted at Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, where academicians stressed trust between teachers and students. Students and teachers came together through cultural performances at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, where faculty members highlighted the importance of discipline, sensitivity and ethical values. At Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, celebrations focused on education beyond textbooks and examinations. Retired and distinguished faculty members were honoured on the occasion. At Aminabad Inter College, students presented songs and dance performances for their mentors, while teachers were honoured for their contribution to education.
