Bhavesh Dnyaneshwar Koli, who secured 96 percentile in the engineering entrance examination, was allotted a seat at CoEP Technological University under the ST category. The matter was heard on Aug 31 by a bench of justices Dipankar Datta and Sheel Nagu. Because his tribe validity certificate was pending before the competent authority, chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Supreme Court has granted interim relief to a Pune engineering student, directing CoEP Technological University not to cancel his admission under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) quota merely.
His tribe validity certificate is, however, yet to be decided by the ST certificate scrutiny committee, Dhule, placing his admission under uncertainty. Issuing notice in the case, SC granted interim protection and directed that CoEP Technological University shall not cancel Koli’s admission for non-production of the ST validity certificate till further orders.
