The exhibition, inaugurated on 16th at the Atal Kalam Research Park, featured banners and displays placed across various university departments. Members of the National Students’ Union of India ( NSUI ) alleged that the information presented in the exhibition was incomplete and misleading. Claiming that the university was attempting to promote a specific agenda, NSUI activists removed and damaged several banners in protest. Following the incident, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ( ABVP ) staged a demonstration in the evening and met the Vice-Chancellor, demanding that a police complaint be filed against NSUI members. Acting on the representation, the university initiated steps to lodge a complaint against the protesting NSUI activists. On the following day, NSUI activists staged a protest outside the Gujarat University police station, opposing the filing of a complaint against them. They also accused the university administration of allowing political motives to influence campus activities.
