Gujarat University will conduct its PhD entrance exam on Sep 26: The wider industry impact

The university has also announced 11 seats in commerce and management and 19 seats in commerce. The number of seats may be revised in accordance with the PhD Regulations 2026.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University will conduct its PhD entrance exam on Sep 26 from noon to 2pm. The registration process, currently open, for admission to 727 PhD seats across various subjects will close on Sep 7. The highest number of vacant seats, 56, are in accountancy course, according to details released by the university. In the arts faculty, there are 31 seats in economics, 26 each in English and Sanskrit, 23 in Hindi, 17 in Gujarati and 16 seats in philosophy. In the science stream, 15 seats are available in microbiology, 11 in computer science and 10 in statistics. There are 53 seats in anatomy, 30 in chemistry, and 24 and 22 seats in microbiology and physiology, respectively. Candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,000. The list of eligible candidates will be published on Sep 11. The research degree committee (RDC) process for eligible candidates will begin on Oct 12, while all required documents must be submitted by Oct 15. The entrance test will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 1 mark. Questions 1 to 50 will cover research methodology, general analytical skills, mental ability, reasoning and English communication, while questions 51 to 100 will be related to the respective subject.
