Her younger brother sustained injuries in the crash, said police. The dumper driver was arrested by the traffic police following the accident. During the investigation, police learnt that the same dumper was allegedly involved in a fatal accident a couple of years ago. Investigators are now checking whether the arrested driver was behind the wheel in that accident as well. The deceased was identified as Aaradhya Brahmbhatt, a resident of Adhisthan flats near Ambli railway station. She was returning home from school with her mother and younger brother when the accident occurred around 1pm. “The dumper hit the scooter from the rear, which left Aaradhya critically injured. She died at the scene, while her younger brother was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Aaradhya’s father, Shekhar Brahmbhatt, rushed to the spot after learning about the accident. Police have sent the girl’s body for postmortem and began probing the circumstances that led to the collision. The dumper driver was identified as Mubarik Sirdar Mew, a native of Nuh district in Haryana who is currently staying near Sanathal Crossroads in Ahmedabad. The vehicle owner, Keyur Barot, was also named as an accused in the complaint filed by the girl’s father. Police seized the dumper and are examining its documents, along with the driver’s licence and other statutory records. They are also investigating whether any violations contributed to the crash.
