The actress wore a stunning kurta set from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s alluring collection, where the ensemble felt like a spectacular fusion of ancient splendour with contemporary clothing.
After making heads turn in a short-hand-embroidered kurta in red with patiala pants, which reignited the much-loved pyjama style in fashion, she marked her presence at the 40-year celebration of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla at their new store in South Mumbai. For the occasion, she wore an outfit that showcased the craftsmanship of the brand over four decades, right from its inception in 1985.
Rich in history, the dupatta’s silhouette can be traced back 400 years, and it has now been transformed to fit contemporary fashion by shortening it from 6 yards to modern lengths. Genelia wore a sleeveless embroidered organza kurta layered over a full-sleeved brocade kurta featuring metallic embroidery designs. The top front showcased traditional marodi embroidery along with various designs, including gota, vasli, thread work, and sequins, all of which are key techniques used in AJSK’s signature embroidery. She wore the kurta with a khada dupatta from Hyderabad, woven in a jamdani style and adorned with floral designs matching the overall tone of the outfit.
